Thì Hiện tại  đơn của động từ To Be.

be (am/ is/ are) : là, thì, ở

 Gồm 3 thể: Khẳng định, Phủ định và Nghi vấn.

1. Positive : Câu khẳng định. 

(+)    S +  be (am/ is/ are) + C (n/a/adv).   

C=complement: bổ ngữ, n= noun: danh từ, a = adjective: tính từ, adv = adverb : trạng từ

dùng   I +  am

           He, She, It, 1 người/vật, This, That, There +  is

          You, We, They, 2 người/vật, These, Those, There +  are

Ex:   -  I am at home today.   S+be+adv.

        -  She is happy.    S+be+a.

        -  We are  teachers. S+be+n.

 2. Negative : Câu phủ định - đặt not vào sau tobe.

(-)     S +  be (am/ is/ are) + not + C (n/ a/ adv).
